Tradition, Craftsmanship, and Italian Elegance

At the heart of the Muscariello legacy lies the men’s shirt—the pearl of our tradition, the garment from which everything began.

Each Muscariello shirt is entirely hand-cut, one by one, even in series production. This ensures that the fabric’s fibers are never stressed, preserving the natural integrity and fluidity of the cloth. It is then sewn by hand in nine key points, which means over 90% of the shirt is hand-finished—a rare and precious mark of true sartorial craftsmanship.

Every detail speaks of heritage: hand-stitched buttonholes, mother-of-pearl buttons, and the finest Italian fabrics, selected with the eye of experience and the touch of tradition. The fit is precise but never rigid. The collar, a quiet signature. The construction, invisible to the eye but unmistakable in its comfort and longevity.

This is the shirt that generations of the Muscariello family have perfected—from atelier to atelier, father to son, stitch by stitch—preserving a craft built on time, patience, and love for excellence.

To wear it is not only to dress well.
It is to carry on a story.
Yours. And ours.

In Italy, the tie has long been a symbol of distinction, savoir-faire, and sartorial culture. Our tie production began in the early 1990s, when Giuseppe Muscariello, a master shirtmaker, moved to San Giorgio a Cremano, a town in the province of Naples known for its rich history in men’s tie manufacturing. For decades, San Giorgio has been a hub of creative excellence in Italy, home to numerous artisan workshops that have dressed entrepreneurs, diplomats, and style icons around the world.

Over the years, the Muscariello tie has grown to complement the shirt — which remains the core of our family’s production — as a niche of excellence. We’ve had the honor of serving companies, institutions, and private clients, always combining tradition with innovation, and staying true to our heritage while embracing a contemporary vision.

Wearing a Mario Muscariello tie is not just a fashion choice — it is a conscious gesture, telling a story of passion that began over thirty years ago and continues today in every detail, stitched with dedication to the timeless beauty of Made in Italy.

The Story of the Tie and the Art of the Seven-Fold

The modern necktie traces its origins back to the 17th century, when Croatian mercenaries serving the French king wore knotted cloths around their necks. The French called it the “cravate”, inspired by the word Croates (Croatians). Over time, that simple gesture evolved into a symbol of masculine elegance and sophistication.

By the 19th century, the tie had taken on its elongated modern shape. Its highest expression of craftsmanship came with the creation of the seven-fold tie. Originally, it was made from a single piece of silk, folded onto itself seven times, with no interlining or reinforcement. This intricate folding gave the tie structure, weight, and luxurious presence—all without stitching in extra material.

The seven-fold tie remains, to this day, a mark of true sartorial artistry: it requires more fabric, more time, and expert hands. Like all things timeless, it speaks softly—but with unmistakable authority.
A quiet gesture of elegance and culture.
